Madison Minitour, May 2009
Almost every year Lyn & I do a two day credit card tour to Madison, Wisconsin. In the past we've started in Dousman and taken the Glacial Drumlin Trail into the city, but this year we thought we'd do something different. We parked in Orangeville, Illinois and took the last bit of Illinois' Jane Addams Trail to the Badger State Trail which we followed north to Madison. The trail will eventually go directly into town, but it doesn't yet-- so we emailed the Bombay Bicycle Club for advice and got excellent directions for a route from the current end of the trail at Purcell Road to our hotel downtown. We usually ride the roads, but we don't have to think on trails, which can be a big plus. We estimate that we did 50 miles each day.
